Burleigh is around 15 to 20 minutes from Coolangatta and the Gold Coast Airport by car.
Surfers Paradise is 20 minutes away heading north by car
Brisbane is around 1 hour to the north from Burleigh Heads and allow an extra 15-20 minutes in peak periods travelling by car!
Travelling to Burleigh is easy, as is getting around once you are there. From overseas there are now some international flights flying directly into Coolangatta where you can easily get a bus to Burleigh. Alternatively car hire is available from the airport. Internationally though, most airline fly directly into Brisbane International Airport where once again car hire is available or there is a train which runs every half an hour from the airport to the Gold Coast, the trip taking about 1 and a half hours. Buses run from the train station at Robina on the Gold Coast to Burleigh. Travelling from interstate most domestic airlines have regular flights to Coolangatta.
Train travel is easy as well with interstate and country trains running into Brisbane with connecting trains to the gold coast. Coach lines also have country and interstate runs with the Burleigh area being well serviced.
Driving by car from nearly anywhere is no problem with Burleigh being close the M1 Motorway which extends to the border and to Brisbane and beyond. The Gold Coast Highway rune the distance of the Gold Coast and easily connects with the motorway.
Travelling around Burleigh by car is easy with streets and major shopping centres well signposted well in advance of any necessary turns. There are local bus serviced which connect Burleigh to neighbouring suburbs, train stations and theme parks.
Several taxi services run in the area and are a good way to get to unfamiliar places in a hurry or when door to door service is required. Of course if door to door service is required in style there is also limousine hire available.
