Burleigh Heads Location

Burleigh is located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. It is situated between Coolangatta on the Queensland/New South Wales Border and the world famous Surfers Paradise.

Being right on the coast Burleigh is popular with locals and tourists with the Gold Coast highway running almost though the centre and the M1 Motorway which runs to Brisbane just to the west. Again speaking of the west the mountains of the Gold Coast Hinterland and the beautiful Scenic Rim can be seen in the distance in contrast to the ocean in the east.

Burleigh Heads Climate

The climate in Burleigh is sub tropical with very warm summers and mild enjoyable winters. During summer the temperature range is around 22 over night reaching into the low 30’s during the day with the water temperature a warm 26 degrees. When it does rain the rainfall most usually occurs briefly in the late afternoon or evening.

Winters are perfect with blue skies and mild temperatures. Although the overnight and early morning can be rather fresh the days are magnificent with temps in the low to mid twenties not unusual although the water temperature does drop considerably making a quick dip in winter a little uncomfortable.

Swimming and surfing can be enjoyed much longer in this region than in the southern areas of the country. Although a walk along the beach is still a popular activity and there are plenty of other activities to keep you occupied during the cooler months.
